The Department of Surgery, under the direction of Dr. Timothy Pawlik, is recruiting a full time Associate Professor or Professor of Surgery for a Chief of the Division of Vascular  Surgery.  The successful candidate will lead an academic division that correlates with comprehensive clinical programs including all arterial and vascular disorders (peripheral vascular, venous disease, endovascular and aortic) management.  The successful candidate will have a proven national/international reputation and experience as a clinical program builder with a strong record of scholarship and funding.  The Division of Vascular Surgery has an accredited vascular fellowship and has the potential to development other innovative educational training programs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and expanding academic and research programs in clinical and laboratory research as well as health services and outcomes research.  This leadership role will have an important presence in the Department of Surgery, the Ross Heart and Vascular Center, as well as the Wexner Medical Center.

                                     

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of  seven years of strong clinical experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building innovative programs as well as recruiting and retaining faculty
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited vascular surgery fellowship
  • CAQ in Vascular Surgery
  • Board Certified in general surgery
  • Experience with teaching, research and clinical practice
  • Qualify for academic appointment at the associate or professor rank; salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience
  • An active research program in basic, translational, clinical or health services research is desirable
