The Division of Hematology, Oncology and Cell Therapy in the Department of Medicine at Rush University / Rush University Cancer Center is recruiting a Section ChiefBone Marrow Transplant and Cell Therapy. The predominant criteria is a major commitment to research, teaching, and patient satisfaction, excellence in clinical care, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service - appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The Section Chief will be incoming at  the associate or professor level, and is an experienced clinician demonstrating knowledge and innovation in the field of bone marrow transplantation.  The Section Chief will specifically participate in direct patient care, teaching, research, and program administration to maintain current accreditations for cellular therapies and national cooperative group memberships to facilitate the further advancement of a well-established clinical program in bone marrow transplant and cell therapy.  The successful candidate will possess professional qualifications that include: Hematology, Oncology or Hematology/Oncology training with board certification, MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent), and have experience in clinical and translational research.  In addition, the successful candidate is a creative leader with a strong record of collaborative leadership and commitment to academic excellence.   Candidates who have active ongoing clinical/translational research programs and some administrative experience are preferred.

Rush University Cancer Center comprises all of the cancer-related clinical, research and educational efforts at Rush, crossing 20 departments, divisions and sections; inpatient and outpatient areas; professional clinical activities; and the colleges of Rush University.  Faculty participate in teaching and mentoring residents, fellows and postdoctoral candidates.
