Pediatric Surgeon

Rhode Island/Hasbro Children’s Hospital and The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University are seeking a full-time Pediatric Surgeon to join the Department of Surgery. This state-of-the-art children’s hospital has earned worldwide recognition for its family-centered environment and growth of its clinical and research programs. The Division of Pediatric Surgery provides leadership in pediatric thoracic, general and endoscopic surgery care for southeastern New England. The Division directs the Pediatric Surgery Residency and maintains active participation in educational and extramurally funded research programs within Surgery, Pediatrics, and Public Health. The Brown University Program in Fetal Medicine is directed by the Division.

Pediatric Surgery currently has strong leadership in fetal medicine and surgery, trauma and critical care, the multidisciplinary bariatric program, intestinal rehabilitation, and the institution’s ECMO program.  Candidates will be encouraged to participate or lead basic or clinical science research programs.

Requirements include: board certification/eligibility in general surgery and pediatric surgery. Applicants should have experience in the management of pediatric surgical critical care and trauma. Applicants are expected to develop a basic or clinical science research program that complements current areas of excellence within the Department of Surgery.  Candidates must qualify for a full-time faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Surgery.
