The Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopaedics at Sinai Health System, Toronto, Ontario, is inviting applications for the position of an academic Orthopaedic Arthroplasty Surgeon. This is a full time faculty appointment.

The effective date of this appointment is tentatively set for August 1, 2018.

We seek a fully licenced surgeon with and fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty. The candidate must be comfortable managing primary and complex revision hip and knee arthroplasty cases as well as provide management of fracture and trauma patients. A Masters level degree in Quality Improvement would be ideal. 

We seek a surgeon with an interest in an academic practice. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required. The successful candidate should ideally possess strong leadership skills, professionalism and an ability to work in a team.  The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Sinai Health System is comprised of Mount Sinai Hospital and Bridgepoint Rehabilitation Hospital. It is one of Canada’s largest and leading clinical and research hospitals. Sinai Health System is an academic institution affiliated with the University of Toronto and is recognized internationally for excellence in patient care, innovation, research and education. The Division of Orthopaedics is comprised of 7 full-time clinical faculty members, within multiple Programs, offering clinical care in the areas of lower extremity reconstruction, orthopaedic oncology and sports medicine.

Salary will be based on a fee for service model using the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
