CONSULTANT NEUROLOGIST POSITION

We are seeking a CONSULTANT NEUROLOGIST to join a prestigious well established expanding Medical Group in new clinics on a permanent basis in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia.

THE SALARY will be negotiated at approximately $450,000 per annum, supplemented by an opportunity for generous additional bonus earnings. We take care of our staff. Lunch is supplied. We are a well-equipped, friendly, stable paperless practice with full secretarial support. The average duration of employment of all of our staff is 10 years.

THE LOCATION OF BRISBANE offers a great family lifestyle, excellent schools, beautiful scenery, accessible beaches to the North and South and a warm climate, away from the cold winters of the Southern states of Australia. We hardly ever wear an overcoat!

Real estate is affordable, with the market values way below Sydney and Melbourne. The Gold Coast with their stunning beaches is just an hour’s drive from Brisbane, as are the stunning vistas of the nearby mountains;

•         Glasshouse mountains

and ;

•         Springbrook world heritage listed rain forest (https://www.npsr.qld.gov.au/parks/springbrook/about.html).

Requirements

You must hold  a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent. Ideally, you will also be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist in Neurology, or will have already been assessed by the  RACP as “substantially comparable” to Australian-trained Neurologists.

  •    Unusually, this position does not require educating and teaching of students in medicine, nor does it require on-call public hospital commitments. Simply put, this is an amazing opportunity which offers normal business hours Monday to Friday,and no weekend work. Average hours will be 45 hours per week.
  •   You will require broad clinical experience and skills with a special interest in neurophysiology, EMG and nerve conduction studies, as we are a group of clinics specializing in neurophysiology, including for patients with work related injuries.

  •  You must hold  a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent, and be eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a specialist in Neurology. If you are an International Medical Graduate and have already been assessed by the  RACP as “substantially comparable” in the first instance, this will also be viewed favourably.

Professor John Corbett, the principal of the group, worked at Oxford University from 1964 for 9 years as an Oxford Don after winning the Rhodes Scholarship for Queensland in 1964.
