7 FTE Research & Teaching

The School of Medicine, University of Dundee, is reinvesting and looking to appoint a number of outstanding clinical and non-clinical researchers covering the spectrum from basic science through clinical research to more epidemiological and applied research in our key priority areas, who wish to be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary research community with a core purpose to transform lives. The positions will be based on the University of Dundee’s Ninewells campus, co-located with Ninewells Hospital (one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK).

Minimum skills, experience and qualifi cations for all grades:

• MD/PhD in a relevant subject

• Ability to produce research outputs of internationally

excellent quality

• Ability to generate external funding for research projects

• Ambitious research plans which will be competitive for RCUK,

Wellcome, EU or equivalent funding streams and/or for industrial

funding mechanisms

• Experience of teaching at university (or equivalent) level

• Clear evidence of learning and teaching competence

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Evidence of ability and willingness to work collaboratively

with others

• Evidence of effective team membership

• Ability to prioritise and balance competing demands

• Willingness to engage with UK and overseas student recruitment
