As the Clinical Business Analyst you will work directly with laboratory and business experts to develop a clear understanding of their needs, and effectively translate these needs to the appropriate solutions. There will be periodic travel within Ontario and BC.

 

Responsibilities

  • Requirement gathering/use case and model development, system configuration, validation, documentation, scheduling, and implementation.
  • Ensure all activities performed comply with specified control procedures, system validation requirements, policies and standards.
  • Facilitate a team environment.
  • Provide support coverage for Point Of Care components and software applications listed under the incumbent's purview. 24/7 rotating on-call national support
  • Perform application Q.A. and ensure adherence to software testing standards and SOPs.
  • Identify, investigate and resolve problems and issues and communicate/escalate problems before they impact business units.
  • Attends/conducts business management meetings & working sessions to acquire a thorough understanding of the customer’s business requirements and objectives.
  • Ensure IT projects and solutions are delivered on time, within budget and meet all requirements
  • Conducts meetings with relevant IT groups/stakeholders ensuring communication on departmental and customer current and future business initiatives
  • Assume additional duties as required

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in a Healthcare environment is required
  • Proven ability to perform requirements gathering, testing, system configuration, training, installation, coordination and support of business-critical systems (Healthcare).
  • Experience with Point Of Care testing devices and systems in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of laboratory processes and result processing algorithms in various clinical laboratory areas e.g. Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Histology, Cytology.
  • Understanding of databases and competent with Microsoft SQL Server and all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent problem solving abilities
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or equivalent e.g. Quality Assurance or Quality Control or Health Sciences experience is ideal but not required
